“You won’t believe who asked about attending tonight?” You tell Harry as you sit in his dressing room, classical music playing as Harry tries his best to relax for the show tonight. After ripping his pants last night, his nerves are at an all-time high. You understood it can be vulnerable but were happy he could laugh it off. 

“Who? Viola, no uh, Kelly Clarkson, Rosalia, Jennifer Aniston,” he teases, shaking his head. “I can’t believe you didn’t tell me she was attending.” 

You laugh because his reaction is priceless. He was quick to blow her a kiss. Not even you got one that early into the show. “It was worth it for your reaction.” Jeff made sure Anthony got photos of the exact moment. “Anyways, back to my question, you guessed wrong.” 

“Will you tell me?” 

“It’s Benito,” you breathe out.

“Bad Bunny? He wanted to come to a show?” Harry asked, surprised. 

“No, amor. He is coming.” 

Harry turns away from the mirror to look at you, “does that mean you won’t be in the back tonight with everyone?” 

You grimace, “I can be.” 

He sighs, “it’s okay.”

“H, if you want me down there where it’s safe. I'll do it if Antonio has easier access to my safety.” 

Harry knows you’re careful each night that fans are now quick to spot you no matter how much you like to feign that you blend in. Your security has begun to join you more, something Harry insisted on and Viola. Jeff even chimed in that it would be good, and you knew you were outnumbered. “It’s fine.”

“You sure?”

“Yes, love.” 

You trust him, and Harry comes over and lays his head in your lap. “Will you read to me?” 

“Don’t have my book.” 

“Oh, I can grab mi–” 

You’re quick to shake your head, “nope, no thanks.” 

Harry sighs, “fine, fine.” 

Instead, you settle in comfortable silence, enjoying each other’s company. It seems that from here on out, it’ll be constant travel and work. You hate being away from Harry, but you never let yourself focus on that and instead enjoy the moments you are with him.

Harry was a shining star on stage tonight. He reminded you of a disco ball, and you enjoyed seeing him prancing around the stage. You can’t help but stand up for the majority of the show, always happy to dance along with Harry as if there wasn’t a room of thousands of people between you. 

It’s Harry’s brief intermission where he speaks with the crowd, and you take the time to sit down. Benito lets you know he’s having fun, and it’s the best news.

“My girlfriend is in the audience tonight. She’s with a good friend of hers.” Harry tells the audience, loving when a chant of the room echoes through the room. “Hope you’re having a good time.” He is quick to point you out, having spotted you the moment he rose from the stage. 

She mouths they are. Benito sent him a thumbs up. “Well, I can’t really hear you, but I will assume you are. If not, then you can tell me all about it when I’m not working,” he teases. Harry blows them a kiss, and you pretend to catch him and place it against your chest. “That wasn’t for you,” he chastises. You pout, and his laugh rings loud through the microphone. “Alright, moving on. Have fun, Bel.” Benito sends Harry love, forming a heart with his hands. 

“He’s funny.” 

You shrug, “only a little.” 

Benito laughs, turning to speak to his friend for a moment. Harry always makes you feel special in a room full of thousands. Yet, you’re the one who’s always able to hold his attention. It was hard to pick your favorite part of the show. Each night something else manages to stand out and become a new favorite. Undoubtedly, “Sushi” was the perfect song with the horns and “YMCA” intro. It gets everyone out of their seats and begins dancing like clockwork when your friend Benito stands up. 

“Me encanta!” Benito shouted.

“¡Es increíble! Me da gusto,” you squeeze his arms in thanks but quickly turn your attention back to Harry.

It’s a night to remember. Even more memorable when Harry takes you home and has his way with you because although he knows Benito is a friend, he can’t help but get jealous. He reminds you that night you’re his, just like he is all yours.

The Puerto Rican recording star, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, talked about the subject in an interview with the LA Times, saying that he sees himself, like many members of his generation, as fluid.

“It does not define me,” he says. “At the end of the day, I don’t know if in 20 years I will like a man. One never knows in life.”

He goes on to add, “But at the moment I am heterosexual and I like women.”

To me, it sounds like he’s saying he’s heterosexual, but he recognizes sexuality is fluid and he’s open to the idea that who he’s attracted in the future could change.

Either way, the question that anon asked about why he’s not criticized for “queerbaiting” while Harry is, is an interesting one.

¡Hola a todos! Ya se va a terminar el mes del amor, e inspirada en los videos de “Lo que tu ship favorito de Hetalia dice de ti” y semejantes; y en vista de que México es uno de los países más shipeados, (al menos por el fandom de Countryhumans y Hetalia) decidí hacer esto en colaboración con mi prima. Básicamente es una recopilación de las características que comparten algunos fans cuando emparejan a México con otro país.

ADVERTENCIA Y NOTAS ANTES DE EMPEZAR:

- Dirigido tanto para fans de Countryhumans como de Hetalia. Aclaro que en este blog no se discute si uno es mejor que el otro, y disfrutamos la parte sana de ambos y evitamos la parte tóxica.

-  Esto es solo por diversión, y NO SE DEBE TOMAR ENSERIO. Piénsalo como un horóscopo, puede que cumplas con alguna de las características, puede que no. El objetivo es reírnos un poco.

- Estamos conscientes de que no todos los ships aparecerán aquí, o no todos tendrán la misma extensión que otros. Intentamos juntar a todos los que fuera posible.

Sin más que agregar, comencemos: 

ANTES QUE NADA, ÉSTA ES UNA DE LAS POSIBLES RAZONES POR LAS QUE SHIPEAS A MÉXICO CON UNO O MÁS PAÍSES:

- Eres mexicano, no me cabe la menor duda. Tienes un OC de México y haces fanarts y escribes fanfics de él/ella con tu personaje favorito.

- Eres latino y eres del fandom de Latin Hetalia, o del fandom latino de Countryhumans (obvio señorita Sherlock)

- No eres mexicano ni latino, pero te gusta México

- Si eres mexicano, te gusta cuando ponen a México (o Nueva España) como el niño consentido, la princesa de papi, y como el mejor de las colonias de España. (Lo siento, los demás países latinos)

- Tus épocas favoritas de México son la Conquista, la época colonial de la Nueva España y la Independencia.

both benito and harry were the only two artists that were nominated for both categories. it would make more sense if different album was selected from an artist who was not nominated for both. why? because why would people who listen to either vote for just one category? it makes sense that their votes would overlap (unless ur both but be serious i cant defend harry rn hes being annoying lmao) BUT he still should’ve won both categories

un verano sin ti was released may 6th w/ 23 tracks. harry’s house was released on may 20th with 13 tracks. despite being released later in the month, uvst still surpassed the amount of streams received by harry’s house during its release.

uvst also shows how versatile benito is too like? it’s can stand as an album alone but it takes inspiration from his previous albums as well like x 100pre, yhlqmdlg, and el ultimo tour del mundo. i know artists can pick their own genre, but i genuinely feel like uvst is more impressive and theres more to work with. harry literally made a song for a commerical :/ like that was planned lmao. cocaine side boob does not cut it for me.

Book Challenge 2019 - I DID IT!

Hi guys, after tracking all the books I’ve read here from 2013-2016, I completely forgot this whole thing for more than 3 years! Sorry!!

No fear though: I’m back! Even though 2019 has almost ended, I’ll make sure this post correctly reflects the whole of 2019!

Since it’s already the end of October, I do feel like I have some hindsight vision into my reading pace this past year, but before I mention how it actually went, I want to explain my original expectations! So 2019 for me is the year I’m finishing my Classics Bachelor Degree in July and the year I’ll be studying abroad for one term from September to December (I’m doing two degrees, so I’ll still be doing my English degree after Classics!). So for my reading, I’d expected not to read a lot. Perhaps for my thesis some books on the subjects and of course for English my course work. So my original reading goal was 50 books!

Looking back on these expectations I must say I’ve read a great deal more than I expected! Writing my thesis did include reading a lot of books and other course work had more reading than I thought I would which boosted my challenge in the first half of the year! Of course, I’ve also read quite a lot during the holidays because what else is there to do in the holidays :D? Regarding my studying abroad experience, I’m reading more than I expected. This is partly because the course work is again much more based on reading books than articles or just parts of book. At the same time, I’m doing less studying than I used to do back home, so I have more time free to do some casual reading. On top of that - since I’m walking everywhere here - I’ve started listening to audiobooks which also adds a couple to the challenge.

So my challenge became 80 books! But I had already surpassed before November, so that’s great! I’d expressed my hopes to read 100 books this year as well, but out of fear of not making that I hadn’t changed my goals. Seeing as of now (mid-November), I’ve already read 93 books I feel confident I can read at least 7 more until a 100, so I’ve changed my goal to read 100 books

Update: Today (December 31) I’ve read 135 books so I’ve finished my challenge!!  Let’s see where the rest of this year brings me :D!

After the show, Bel goes on her way but not without making sure to send Benito a large bouquet of flowers. She thanks him for an amazing night and how she loves the passion he has for music and his people. 

It’s a few weeks, she’s in Los Angeles at a premiere for her film and by chance Benito was there for the week so Viola thought it’d be nice to extend an invite. It’s all about promotion, is what Viola said and well most of Bel’s team was on board so she was too. 

It’s premiere day and after a morning of meetings and a long afternoon of getting ready. She’s ready to head to the red carpet and see some of her co-stars. Emerson shows her the good luck text Harry sent her. The red carpet nerves never get easier. 

“Benito!”

“Bella!” 

“Viniste!” Bel greets him with a hug in the middle of the carpet as he made his way to to her.

“Por supuesto. Un honor que me invitaras.” Benito expresses his gratitude that she thought to invite him.

“Y/N! ¡Benito! Look here, please!!” The photographers yells get louder knowing how crazy all media outlets are going to go for these unexpected photos. 

“¿Una foto conmigo, bella?” Benito asks. 

“Sí. Claro” 

He sets a respectful hand on her waist while Bel keeps her hands to her side. She doesn’t need anymore rumors flying around so she’s being mindful. Also aware her boyfriend will be seeing these if he hasn’t already. 

“Gracias. Te veo adentro.” With a kiss on her cheek he’s walking away leaving her to take more photos.

The following day after a successful night with her director and cast Bel is in her hotel room when she receives a large bouquet of yellow roses that signify friendship and joy. The note on the flowers confirms it’s from who she thinks it is.

As Emerson is setting down her flowers for her on the hotel table, her phone rings. Only display is a photo of her and Harry with her sitting on his lap under a tall tree in his mum’s backyard.

She hears him sigh, “I saw the photos,” he mumbles.

“But Benito next to you isn’t so nice.”

She laughs, “Viola thought inviting him would bring good movie buzz.” 

“Hmm…has it?” 

“Has what?” 

“Brought you lots of buzz” 

“It has. Ticket sales for the film went up fifteen percent than we were expecting.” 

“That’s great, baby.” Harry tells her, but she knows him. She knows he’s planning something. 

“H, don’t do something. Jeff already thinks you’re on the loose because of me.” 

“Don’t worry, baby. I’ll be good. I’ll be at the airport.”

When Bel gets off the plane her phone is blowing up and a notification of Harry posting on his story comes through from two and a half hours ago. He posted half an hour into her flight to him. It’s a photo of him at the cinema next to a poster of her in her red dress and axe in hand as Pearl with a dimpled smile on his face. The caption reads: I got my tickets. Have you? There is a link attached too.

Ticket sales through the rough. It went up 30% than we expected. Thank the boy for us.

Bel sighs, as she grabs her bag and makes her way toward the entrance where she finds him with a sign: Bel’s boyfriend.

PARSIPPANY — The Parsippany High School Class of 2018 graduated on Thursday, June 21. 216 students received their diplomas after the Conferment of the Degrees by Principal Denis Mulroony. The diploma’s were presented to the Board of Education.

133 students, or 61.6% will be attending four year colleges, 61 students or 28.2% will be attending two year colleges, 12 students or 5.6% will be attending career education, 6 students for 2.8% will be employed and 4 students, or 1.8% will be joining the military.

Hello everyone! The month of love is finally over, but before that, inspired by the “What your Favorite Hetalia ship says about you” and related; and since Mexico is one of the most shipped countries (at least by the Hetalia and Countryhumans latin fandom), I decided to make this in collaboration with my cousin. If you are not familiar with this, basically it is a recopilation of facts some people share when they ship Mexico with another country.

WARNINGS AND NOTES BEFORE WE START:

- This post is for both, Hetalia and Countryhumans fans. I clarify that in this blog we don´t discuss which one is better than the other, we enjoy the healthy part and avoid the toxic part. 

-  This is just for fun, and IT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. Think of it as a horoscope, you can share some of the facts, maybe not. The main purpose is to have some fun. 

- We are aware that not all the ships will be here, or that not all of them will have the same extension. We tried to gather all we could. 

- This is an extra warning for the English translation: This post may contain a lot of mexican and latin american modern references. Also, the best known historical periods are going to be mentioned, so if you are not familiar with the history of Mexico, we invite you to watch this video, and to consult other articles and media.

Without further due, let´s begin: 

FIRST OF ALL, THIS IS ONE OF THE POSSIBLE REASONS YOU SHIP MEXICO WITH ONE, IF NOT, MORE COUNTRIES: 

- You are mexican, I don´t have a doubt. You have a Mexico OC and you make fanarts and write fanfics about him/her with your favorite character.

- You are latino, and you came from the Latin Hetalia fandom, or you are from the latin fandom of Countryhumans (obviously, Miss Sherlock Holmes).

- You are neither mexican or latino, but still you like Mexico. 

- If you are from Hetalia, you are still waiting the day Himaruya publish the official design of Mexico, so he/she can interact with your favorite character.

IF YOU LIKE 🇺🇸 USAMEX (USA X Mexico) 🇲🇽

- Favorite fanfic genre: Angst.

- Your guilty pleasures are the toxic love, the impossible love or the unrequited love. Or perhaps you like stories about people who fall in love with their chilhood friend. Or you like the phrase “From hate to love...”

- If you are from Hetalia, (also applies to Countryhumans) probably you also like FrUK (France x UK) or SpUK (Spain x UK). Or you simply don´t support USUK (USA x UK).

- If you are mexican, probably you are from the North, and you love the North and South Mexico OC´s. (And obviously, you ship North Mexico with USA).

- If you are mexican, you probably have visited the United States or your have relatives living there. Going further, you are chicano.

- You love the states personifications of both countries, and you are fascinated by the idea that Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California are the USA and Mexico kids. 

- If you are from Hetalia, you like cowboy America, and you also like Mexico dressed as a revolutionary or adelita.

IF YOU LIKE 🇷🇺 RUSMEX (Russia x Mexico) 🇲🇽

- You hate USAMex and surely you don´t like United States if you are mexican.

- Your favorite historical event: the Cold War.

- Favorite word: Tripaloski.

- You like couples with a lot of height difference. Lil Mex is the most adorable thing in the world. 

- If you are a Countryhumans fan, probably you also ship Perú with USA.

- You like love triangles stories. (Cough… cough… USA x Mexico x Russia)

- You have seen Youtube videos of “Rusos Reaccionan a…” (Russians react to), and of mexicans in the Russia 2018 FIFA. 

IF YOU LIKE 🇨🇦 CANMEX (Canada x Mexico) 🇲🇽

- You like fluffy ships.

- You think Canada is a better suitor than the toxic USA and the distant and cold Russia. (Or if you are from Hetalia, you think Russia is too mad and unstable for Mexico)

- If you are mexican, you have visited Canada, you want to work or study there, or you have relatives living in Canadá. 

- If you´re from Hetalia, it is likely that you don´t like CuCan (Cuba x Canada).

- Also, if you´re from Hetalia, you got excited when in the anime and the manga, Kumajiro mentioned Mexico, and then you got mad because he/she was never showed up!

- If you´re mexican, you were into the memes of Peña Nieto and Justin Trudeau. 

- Like Russia case, you adore the love triangles, but in this case you like stories about brothers who have a crush on the same person.

IF YOU LIKE 🇪🇸 SPAMEX (Spain x Mexico) 🇲🇽

- You like sugar daddies. (Daddy Spain 😏)

- Your guilty pleasure are stories about possesive couples and couples with secret lovers. (Okay, that´s not healthy...) 

- If you´re from the Hetalia fandom, you do not like SpaMano (Spain x Romano), and if you are mexican, you will never accept (or you ignored) that canonically, Romano received better treatment than the rest of Spain colonies.

- If you are mexican, you like when Mexico (or New Spain) is represented as the spoiled kid, as daddy´s little princess, and as the best colony of Spain. (Sorry, the other Spain former colonies.)

- Your favorite Mexico periods are the Conquest, the New Spain colonial era and the Independence. 

- Probably you not only ship Mexico with Spain. Actually for some reason you like Mexico cheating Spain with another country, either England, France, a latin country and, why not? with the United States.   

IF YOU LIKE 🇫🇷 FRAMEX (France x Mexico) 🇲🇽

- You like to live the expensive life: Eating in gourmet restaurants, buying brand clothes, expensive trips with a five-star hotel stay. Or if you had money, you would love to live the expensive life. 

- You like fashion and architecture.

- Favorite Mexico period: The Porfiriato. If you´re mexican, you think that outside of the bad things, Porfirio Díaz made great contributions to the country, and his remains should return to Mexico.

- If you are mexican, you live in the capital, or/and you love to visit Mexico City downtown. 

- You like stories about characters who made the casanova to fall in love with them, or stories about the stalker gaining his crush´ heart. (Creepy...)

- If you like male Mexico, you like him to be a flirt and gallant. If you like female Mexico, you like her to be very femenine and dressing pretty outfits.

IF YOU LIKE 🇬🇧UKMEX (England x Mexico) 🇲🇽

- If you are from Hetalia, obviously you like tsundere characters. 

- You are fan of Harry Styles, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Queen, the Beatles, David Bowie, Alan Rickman, or any other english celebrity. 

- You´re a big fan of gentlemen like Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice or Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre. In fact, you have readed a lot of books from that period and from that genre.

- You like black humor, wordplay and double entendre phrases. 

- You hate Spain and you think England would have been a better sugar daddy. (Why would you think that?)

- You think England would have been a better colonizer than Spain (Why would you think that?)

- You don´t like neither USAMex or RusMex. 

- Or maybe you like the Rusia x México x China love triangle. You can add USA, and now you have some kind of love square.

- You have seen the Chumel Torres on HBO videos, specially those that are titled: “Mexicanos al Grito de Trump” and “Latinos Enemigos”.

- You like the apps Wish and Tik Tok.

- Unlike those who ship FraMex, you prefer to save money by buying good, pretty and cheap things. You have bought in Miniso and in other Chinese low-cost variety stores.

- You like couples with a lot of age difference (If you are an Hetalia fan, you know what I mean). In other words: 🎵A mí me gustan mayores, de esos que se llaman señores … 🎵

IF YOU LIKE 🇰🇷 South Korea x Mexico 🇲🇽

- It is more likely that you came from Hetalia than Countryhumans, and you think Korea needs more recognition alongside China and Japan, even more when this character was censored from the anime.

- IN GENERAL:

    - If you are from Hetalia, obviously you are from the Latin Hetalia fandom. If you are from Countryhumans, obviously you are mexican and/or latino.

    - Your favorite characters are without doubt the latinos, and you prefer that all stays in family. In fact, you don´t like to ship Mexico with first world countries, or you use these last ones to create love triangles, love squares, or any other love geometric figure. 

    - You like Mexico being the dom of the relationship.

- BRAMEX: If you are from Countryhumans, you are most likely to be a fan of @torakashu. You don´t like Argentina x Brazil, or maybe you like the Argentina x Brasil x México love triangle. You also ship Argentina with Chile.

- ARGMEX: You don´t like Argentina x Brazil, or maybe you like the Argentina x Brasil x México love triangle. You also ship Brazil with Uruguay.

- CHIMEX: You live with roomies. You love tsundere characters like those who ship UKMex, but maybe not too tsunderes. And people who don´t like your ship, you smack´em with your guitar! ( 😁)

- MEXRU: If the people who ship RusMex like lil adorable Mexico, you think that Peru (who is even more short sized) is the most mega super 1000% kawaii thing in the universe. Probably you also like the Rusia x Peru x USA x Mexico love square.

IF YOU LIKE 🇺🇦 UKRAMEX (Ukraine x Mexico) 🇲🇽 or 🇧🇾 BELMEX (Belarus x Mexico) 🇲🇽

- You think that RusMex is very overrated, and similar to the CanMex case, you think Russia siblings are better suitors.

- You don´t care to ship countries which do not share a lot of history and interactions compared to others.
